Qatar Airways Walk In Interview - March
Huge satisfaction!
Firstly, I wasn't late for the interview. Big applause to myself!
Secondly, I passed the mandatory test (212 cm) and most exciting was, I was one of the selected 50 candidates out of 300 ++ candidates!
Reached the interview room at 9AM, whereas the interview starts at 10AM. Pretty girls around and I saw few familiar faces. This was the second attempt and I passed the first round twice! Satisfied!
For most of the people out there, they are nervous rather prepared. Even some of them were ex-crew from AirAsia, MAS and SIA. I met at least 6 ex-crew from Airasia and we made close friends. A bonus for attending the second interview, isn't it?
Talked so much ho. Most of the people asked why Qatar? Simply love the prestige of it, the benefits and the routes. The best part is we will be based in Doha, Qatar! I am a homie, like you and you, but since we are still young, and I am not married, I love adventurous life, why not Qatar Airways, right?
Let me tell you more about the interview. The first round is the toughest one. You need to impress the interviewer during submitting your CV. Just 3-5 minutes. She will ask questions, answer the question then you just walk off from the table. Come home and wait for their call for second interview, they will contact you before 6pm on the same day you submitted your CV.
My first attempt was half-successful. I was late for the first day and second day. I absent during the slide showtime and introduction. I reached there 30 minutes before the registration closed. Then I walked off from the table with a little hope, finally, the joyful ring bell! I got the call, but I was too excited, couldn't sleep for the night before and I late for the English Assessment next day. I passed, yet got booted up after the group discussion.
For my second attempt, I wasn't late. I was there for the introduction. During the Q&A session, a lot of people asked stupid questions. Seriously, just bare in your mind that you are going to work in a Islamic Country, you should be able to know what's the restriction, for instance, gender issue and appearance, isn't it? Common sense, people. First and foremost, you are not even confirmed yet that you will be selected, just leave those questions to be asked AFTER you are successfully to be part of the cabin crew. Make any sense here?
I got booted up after the English assessment. There are people with perfect English and I am so sure that my essay sucks! No structure at all, just write whatever I can think in my head. Oh, I am so gonna brush up my writing skills. I am gonna brush up my French! OMG, I paid the fees for nothing, I did not practise, I got no chance to speak French, I was lazy and I skipped classes for college events! Despite of Bonjour and Salut and Oui, a sentence in French I can recall is : Do you want to make love with me? I am not nasty, this particular sentence is sang in "Lady Marmalade" !
I wasn't disappointed. I feel grateful that I am selected and I believe that they see the qualities in me, aren't they? I was nervous a little bit, and not manage to take a picture of mine, what I wore, how did I make up and etc.
I know many of them shared the tips for SIA Cabin Crew Walk In Interview. Unlike Qatar Airways, it's very subjective in Qatar Airways. It's a multi-cultural company and the interviewers have seen up to 80 nationalities worldwide during their recruitments. Just be yourself, and believe me, warm smile is the rule of thumbs.
In shorts, I am happy, satisfied, grateful. When There Is A Will, There Is A Way. One of my friends tried 12 times, and she got selected finally last year! She is on probation now, hope we can fly together very soon.
Qatar Airways, I'll be back perfectly prepared! Adios!
